So, to learn more about ESP teaching, lecturers of\u00a0<em>PKPBI UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang<\/em>\u00a0held a workshop on ESP on Friday, December 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a02017. The theme of the workshop was \u201cChanging the Mindset in the Teaching World\u201d with Mr. Jasmin Samat Simon from Ma Chung University as the speaker. The workshop focused on changing the lecturers\u2019 mindset on teaching using two key points that should be built in the classroom, those are TRUST and ENVIRONMENT. Mr. Jasmin emphasized that &#8220;a lecturer is also an environmentalist&#8221; which means English lecturers should be able to build the enjoyable and communicative English learning environment.\u00a0 As the attendees, the lecturers were also engaged in some games and activities that could be applied in the classroom. By experiencing to be in the students\u2019 shoes, it was expected that the lecturers could get clearer ideas on how to appropriately treat and teach the students as the English foreign language learners. Through changing the mindset of how students should learn, lecturers can find the best way to create a pleasant learning environment. \u201cLearning English should be a joy, not a burden\u201d this is a challenging job of English lecturers especially those who teach ESP since they must be the bridge between the target language and the field of study learned by the students. As a monthly agenda, workshop or seminar like this is very crucial to enrich the lecturers&#8217; knowledge about teaching.
