A Visit from Jember: A Joint TOEFL Preparation and Testing Program

Many people are familiar with TOEFL preparation course and of course, more people are taking this test every year. As one of the institutions which legally permitted to conduct TOEFL test, English Language Center of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has many qualified programs related to TOEFL and one of them is to cooperate with other educational institutions for TOEFL preparation course and testing. Related to this, Kyai Abdurrahman and Ibu Balqis Humaira, representatives from Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam I which is located in Jember, visited English Language Center of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang on 27 November 2017 to discuss the partnership plan regarding TOEFL course and testing program. They implied that the intention of the visit is to offer a collaborative plan of TOEFL preparation program in  Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam I especially for students in the twelveth grade. Since Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam I has three different high-schools, they hoped that lecturers in English Language Center of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang can help to design and teach the TOEFL course there.

Although the joint program had been agreed by both institutions, further details of the program are still under discussion. The Head of English Language Center, Dr. Syamsudin, expected that this kind of collaboration will last.
